Mohammad Aref Ghulami

Aref Ghulami, born in 1974 in Kabul, is the head Afghanistan Calligraphers Association. While living in Iran, he learned the art of Calligraphy from Shir Hasan Shirkavand, Mustafa Mahdizadeh, Mohammad Karim Karimi, Ali Shirazi and Gholam Hossein Amirkhani. He works in 4 styles of calligraphy: Nastaliq, Shekasteh Nastaliq, Naskh and Thuluth. He is a certified master of Iran Calligraphy Association in the styles of Nastaliq and Thuluth. He later moved back to his native Kabul and has been practicing calligraphy there for over 16 years.
