Waqar Ahmed

Young Pakistani calligraphy artist Waqar Ahmed was born in 1995. Among his accolades is winning the gold medal from Pakistan National council for Islamic Calligraphy, and second prize at the International calligraphy and Illumination of Manuscript in Algeria, the first Pakistani to receive the honor. He’s transcribed the Quran in both Kufi and Muhaqaq styles of Arabic calligraphy. His work appears in exhibitions in Pakistan and abroad, namely in Algeria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
