Najibullah Anwari

Born in 1967 in Herat, Najibullah Anwari is a graduate of Herat Teacher’s College. He refined his art under the lated Mohammad Ali Attar Heravi in his native country and later under the late Mostafa Mehdizadeh in Iran and Qanam in Iraq. He works in various styles of Islamic calligraphy namely Nastaliq, Shekaste Nastaliq, Thuluth, Naskh and Mohaghagh. Anwari has published 7 books and his exhibition credits includes ones held in Afghanistan, Canada and Germany individually and participations in Kabul, Herat, Bahrain, Dubai, Pakistan, Mashad and Tehran. He teaches calligraphy and his students have gone on to become prolific artists and teachers in the field.
