Heisam Salmo

Born in 1970 in Raqqa, Hisam Selmo is a veteran Syrian calligrapher who specializes in Muhaqiq and Thuluth scripts. In 2010 HE founded and became the director of Arabic calligraphy association in Aleppo. His many awards and accolades include Hafiz Othman award for Muhaqiq script and the international Hashim Al-Baghdadi competition in Istanbul. His work has been displayed in group and Solo exhibitions in Allepo, Raqqa, Tehran, Lahore, and Istanbul and a solo exhibition at Cairo opera hall. He’s published his transcriptions of many Sections of the Quran.
