Born in 1959 in Jordan, Faisal Sobhi Ashoor is a calligrapher and visual artist. A member of Jordanian Calligraphers Association, his academic background is in visual arts and he also holds a diploma in calligraphy from Arabic Calligraphy School in Cairo. He has held 10 exhibitions in Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia and his work has appeared in more than 90 event and exhibition namely in Cairo, Kuwait, Algeria and Turkey, where he twice was awarded at IRCICA calligraphy festival. Overall, He has received more than twenty-three domestic and international awards for his work. He’s often on the lecture circuit promoting and discussing Arabic calligraphy.
