Aslam Kiratpouri

Born in 1951 in the small town of Kiratpour, Aslam Kiratpouri is a pioneer of Lahori Nastaliq calligraphy in India. Interested in calligraphy since early Childhood, he learned under renowned artist Faiz Mujjadid Lahori. He was a founding member and president of Urdu Calligraphers association. In 2005 he was selected as the president of Fankar Art Academy in India. He uses different styles of calligraphy and geometric and floral designs to illustrate verses from the Quran in his work.
