Izabela Maria Uchman

Born in Poland and currently based in Cairo, Izabella Maria Uchman is a visual artist and conservator of art work. She collaborates with various institutes in preserving Egyptian cultural heritage as a conservation expert. Among her projects has been restoration of Hatshepsut Temple. Fascinated with Arabic language and Calligraphy, she has adopted it as her main artistic outlet and has been involved in many exhibitions and projects. She focuses on achieving intercultural dialog through concepts of indentity, tradition and religious and cultural affiliation in her work.
